"Ow!"

"Baby," Buffy teased. She smiled as she repositioned the ice pack over Giles' right eye.

"Well that's very easy for you to say. That bruise on your jaw will be gone by morning leaving nothing but your beautiful face to greet the world." He lightly stroked his fingertips along her cheek. "Whereas I shall look like an extra from Rocky for a good week at least."

"Aw, I think you'd look good in fishnets."

A smile tugged its way free of his pout. "Wrong Rocky I'm afraid Love. Though I appreciate the sentiment."

She shrugged. "At least you got it being all brave and manly. Staking that vampire that was trying to sneak up on me while I took out the others."

"You wanted to be injured while being all manly?"

She playfully slapped at his arm. "No Doofus. But I wouldn't have minded not being bruised from bonking into a tree because I wasn't looking where I was at."

"Well I did distract you."

She ran her finger up and down his thigh. "Yeah, but you always distract me, you man you."

He gulped and took the icepack away from his eye. "Miss Summers, you wouldn't be trying to take advantage of an injured man would you?"

She leaned in closer and lightly brushed his lips with her own. "Depends. Is it working?"

"Oh yes," he said. "In fact, if you don't move your hand soon, you're going to find out how much."

She grinned. "Now that's the kind of mortal danger a gal can live with." She closed the remaining distance between them until she lay atop him on his sofa. As her mouth attacked and captured his own, her hand slid down his chest to caress him through the front of his trousers.

Giles thrust gently against his lover's wickedly naughty hand. He dropped the icepack onto the floor and brought his hand under her short skirt to grip her inner thigh.

She went wide-eyed and released him with a slight yelp. She squirmed away from his hand.

"What's wrong?!"

"What's wrong?! Your hand is FREEZING!" He grinned evilly as she backed away from him on the couch. "What are you doing? That's not a good smile."

"Remember the other morning when you wore that delicious peach colored dress that looked like you were wearing nothing at all but you wouldn't let me have any fun because you had an early class?"

She gulped. "Yes?"

He raised an eyebrow. "Payback time."

She was on her feet and giggling a second before he was on her heels. He chased the beautiful blonde all around their living room with his iced hand extended before him like a claw. The pursuit led them up the stairs where he tackled her onto their bed. She squealed as he mischievously touched his cold hand to the back of her neck and then reached up her shirt, touching it to her breast. He kissed her hungrily as she writhed beneath him, his hand as well as other parts of his body quickly warming up.

"I can't believe you let her do this!" Hank Summers slammed his car door as he looked up at the large white building.

"Hank she's 18 years old and it's been a Hell of a long time since I've been in a position to let or not let her do things. Maybe if you'd been around for her, like EVER, you'd understand that."

"I didn't come down from LA to argue with you. I came to take our daughter out of this torrid little love nest and give that dirty old man a piece of my mind."

"Are you sure you can spare it? And as for dirty old man, what does that make you with that little..."

"Don't even start with me Joyce."

She grabbed his arm. "Listen Hank, I'm just trying to make you understand. If you go up there playing holier than thou, she's not going to listen to a word you say. We are here to talk to them, both, rationally. If you're planning on anything else, we're going to lose her for good. That may not mean anything to you, but it still does to me."

He exhaled deeply. "I don't really have a plan. I was just hoping something would come to me." He started for the door again.

Joyce sighed. "Let's hope it's something convincing."

"Oh Rupert! Yes! YES!!"

A loud knock on the front door echoed throughout the apartment.

"Oh NO!!"

A few moments later, a considerably rumpled and grumpy Giles padded his way down the staircase, clad in only pajama bottoms. Buffy followed after him in a comparable state of dishevelment, wearing his missing pajama top. He opened the door and gasped when he saw Buffy's none-too-happy looking parents on his doorstep.

Giles' hand came behind him instinctually to try to keep Buffy from entering into view. When he heard her surprised "Dad?", he knew he'd missed.

Unfortunately, Hank did not. Buffy's father drew his fist back and released it with full force into Giles' face; his left eye to be precise.

"Bloody Hell, not the other one," was all Giles managed to say as he sailed backwards to the floor.

Buffy stared down at her lover, openmouthed. Soon she felt a tight grip on her wrist tugging her out the door. "You are coming home Young Lady and we..." Hank's sentence was cut off by his daughter's fist connecting with his jaw. He flew through the air, sliding on the grass when he landed and coming to a stop in the landscaping bushes that lined the front walkway.

Angry tears burned in Buffy's eyes as she stared at her stunned mother. "Buffy, I didn't mean for..." Joyce started.

"Just get out! Get out and leave us alone. And take that Animal with you." She pointed at her Father's prone form. "I don't have parents anymore. Parents would want me to be happy. They wouldn't come here and hurt the man I love. Just go away!" She stepped back inside the apartment and slammed the door.

The sound of the locks turning seemed to shake Joyce from her shock and she made her way back down the path. As she stomped past where her ex-husband lay, he raised his head and reached out to her. "Um...a little help here?"

Joyce stopped and glared down on him. "You know what Hank? You're an asshole." With that appraisal, she continued her long walk home.

Buffy quickly wiped away a tear as she knelt beside Giles' head. "Are you all right?"

"No. I'm going to be a raccoon in the morning and I'm staying right here on the floor because every time I get up tonight, somebody hits me."

She sighed and stroked his hair lovingly. "So I take it now would be a bad time for me to put on that Chumbawamba CD?"

His hand slid warningly up her shapely leg to rest on her inner thigh. "Have pity on a dying man would you?"

"You're not going to die." She bent to kiss his forehead. As she sat back up, he caught the lapels of the shirt and dragged her down to kiss her on the lips. She began toying with the waistband of his pants until he groaned.

"That's an evil way to make me have to get up."

"What do you mean?"

"Well I'm going to have to get up if I want to make it into the bedroom."

"Who said anything about the bedroom?" She smiled coyly.

"The entryway?"

She shrugged. "We've never gotten around to christening it yet."

"But Buffy..."

"And besides, can you imagine how pissed off my Dad would be if he knew that the only things he accomplished by punching you was a broken jaw for himself and easier access for me to jump your bones?" She slipped his pajama bottoms off of his hips, just far enough for his burgeoning erection to spring free.

"Love," he sighed as her hand began to stroke him to full attention and she moved to straddle his waist. "Much as I want to be with you..." He bit his lip to regain control as she rocked back and forth over him, just allowing his tip to trace the warm, moist cleft between her legs. "I don't think we should do it merely because we have issues with your Father."

"Giles, right now there is only one pressing issue."

At his questioning look, she lowered herself onto him. In place of further protestations, only a loud groan emanated from Giles' mouth as he moved his hands to her hips.

After several moments of lying in the bushes, Hank pulled himself to his feet. His hand clutched his aching jaw, wondering how in the Hell his little girl had developed such a blinding right hook. As he staggered toward his car, he heard a loud masculine moan from behind the door of Giles' apartment. Hank actively went to work convincing himself that it was a moan of pain and not what he knew all too well it must be. Grumbling, he entered his car and drove away.
