__The End...Or Not?__
By Gibberish
Suddenly, everything had changed, Buffy thought as she stared at the massive
crater that had once been Sunnydale. Her home for the last seven
years was gone. God, what had they done? Saved the world, stopped the
apocalypse.
Again. Destroyed a town that had killed her twice. At what price? It hadn't been her who had died that time.
Poor Xander, when the shock wore off, he'd be devastated over the loss of Anya.
Buffy thought about Spike. He'd been right; she hadn't loved him, would never have loved him, but
she would miss him.
They had won, as far as it went, but they had lost so many. Buffy hadn't expected to survive. Since the Master, she never did.
She had, though, so now what?
Buffy turned from the crater, and looked at the others. Dawn, Xander, Willow. There was Faith. Faith and Principal Wood,
there was a pairing. Kennedy, and even Andrew.
Then there was Giles, always Giles. He was the only one who met her eyes. He gave her a nod and an
almost smile. Buffy nodded and almost smiled in return.
Maybe things hadn't changed so much after all. Maybe her home wasn't gone. Buffy walked over to
Giles and nudged him, just a little. Giles did smile then. Buffy looked around at everyone, halting on Giles again.
"So, all in favor of Cleveland?"
They stared at her for a long moment. Faith was the first to respond. "What the hell?"
"Are all Hellmouths the same?" Willow asked.
"I go where you go." Dawn said quietly, but firmly.
"I guess that is what we do." Xander commented.
"You Guys are nuts, you know that?" Kennedy asked in resignation.
"Am I invited?" Andrew asked in a timid, yet hopeful voice.
Buffy gave him a look that he took as an okay. Buffy looked up at Giles in question. "Well?" She asked softly.
Giles looked at her closely. "I suppose that I should check it out."
They began to walk back to the bus. "So, does this mean that you're the head of the Watcher's Council?" Buffy asked
Giles. "'Cause I think I might be able to deal with them, then."
"I seem to be the Council altogether." Giles replied.
"Good." Buffy stated. "Then, you can run it from Cleveland."
