__On Our Way__
By Gibberish
Buffy, Giles and the rest of the extended of the Scooby Gang had decided to take the scenic route
to Cleveland. They took their time, and enjoyed the views, and healed along the way.
The trip to the Grand Canyon hadn't been complete until Xander, looking down into the Canyon, and
said - "It looks like we've already been here."
"Too pretty." Buffy commented. "Are we ready to go?"
"What, that's it?" Xander asked. "We're not going down?"
Buffy looked at him and grinned. "We'll wait for anyone who wants to go down with the jackass."
"Very funny." Xander grumbled.
"Robin says not to worry about him, if anyone wants to go down." Faith said.
"How is Robin?" Dawn asked using his name almost defiantly.
"Stubborn, and he won't listen." Faith answered.
"Fits right in, doesn't he?" Buffy asked drily.
"Yeah." Faith answered somewhat surprised. "I think he does."
Buffy looked at Giles and they both just shook their heads.
When they reached Yosemite, Buffy and Xander couldn't help, but tease Willow about Old Faithful.
Of course, Giles was the only other one who understood the joke. They also picked up another
Slayer, Jill.
When they reached the Colorado Rockies, they decided to just stay for a while and enjoy the
scenery. Robin was up to a few picturesque walks with Faith by then. Oddly, they talked a lot.
By the time they reached Minnesota, they had acquired three more Slayers; Samantha, Meg, and
Sarah. Through Chicago, they found two more; Jaime and Veronica.
They were in Indianapolis, when Willow found it. She had gotten curious about Cleveland, and the
Hellmouth there, and had begun checking the Internet. "Guys, you're not going to believe this."
Willow said oddly.
"We're still on vacation." Xander said quickly.
"How bad is it?" Buffy asked fatalistically.
"Not bad." Willow assured her. "Strange, but not bad. I don't think."
"What is it, Willow?" Giles asked quietly.
"A house." Willow said simply. "A house for us."
"What?" Faith asked doubtfully. "For all of us?"
"Well, yeah." Willow said, her excitement waning a bit. "It's an old estate, about a mile from
the Hellmouth. It has ten acres, and the house itself has three wings." She paused. "Ooh, and a
pool."
Buffy looked at the computer screen. "You've got be kidding me, Sunnydale Drive."
"No way." Xander stated. "We'll never get away from that place."
"It's gotta be fate." Willow stated.
"Or a curse." Xander muttered.
"How are we supposed to afford fate?" Buffy asked practically.
Willow grinned up at Giles. "Giles has control of the Council funds. Besides, we have all those
insurance claims from Sunnydale."
"And you think we should all live together again?" Buffy asked skeptically.
"There's a lot more room than at your house ...." Willow looked stricken. "Not that your place..."
"I get it, Will." Buffy said.
"I think it's perfect." Willow stated. "We're together, but we have our space. There's plenty of
room for training."
Buffy looked up at Giles and bit back a smile. "I think she likes it."
"And it's not as expensive as it sounds." Willow explained. "Hellmouth real estate rates."
"What do you think, Giles?" Buffy asked. "A Watcher/Slayers compound?"
"They'll think we're a cult." Xander pointed out.
"In a way, we are." Kennedy said.
"And we can expect more." Giles stated. "They'll be drawn to the Slayers' energy and the
Hellmouth."
"We could run a school for Slayers." Willow said excitedly.
"Only if Buffy runs it." Faith said.
"Uh-uh." Buffy said. "Giles."
"We all have our strengths." Giles said. "Robin was a principal, Willow's taught classes. Buffy,
Faith and I can train them."
"Ahem." Xander said.
"You'll be very important, Xander." Buffy told him. He looked doubtful.
"Aside from your *usually* never ending moral support, as big as this place is, we'll be adding
to it. A big building for training, some kind of vault for the weapons. A library for our very
special books. And that's just to start."
Willow just grinned. It was a done deal.
