__Pizza Proposal__
By GG the Slayer
It was Thursday night. Pizza Night. Everyone
was supposed to meet at Giles' house by 8PM. Everyone being: Tara, Willow, Dawn,
Anya, and Xander. And of course Buffy. Nobody had any idea that *this* pizza
night would wind up being different than every one that had taken place in the
past.
**********
It was 7PM and Buffy was frantically searching through her
closet, trying to find the *perfect* outfit to wear for Pizza Night. Why did
her outfit need to be perfect? Well, dear reader, keep reading and you will find
out shortly.
After a little more digging, she finally found it. Her
perfect Pizza Night outfit. A silky pale pink tank top, which she paired with
a knee-length white skirt. Quickly dressing, she threw on a pair of strappy
sandals. Then she spritzed on some Vanilla Fields perfume, and some earrings.
Buffy ran downstairs, wrote a quick note for her mom, then flew out the front
door and to a nearby store before she would head to Giles'.
********
At 8PM on the dot, the front door of Rupert Giles,
swung open and a small crowd of people waltzed in and helped themselves to
drinks. Giles was just pulling pizzas out of the oven. He'd put them in
earlier in the evening so they wouldn't get cold while he waited for everyone
to arrive. Hugs and greetings were exchanged between everyone. Pizza slices
were placed on plates and places to sit were quickly found.
As the gang ate and chatted, Buffy grew more and more nervous. But only Giles seemed to
notice...of course. So after a few more minutes of her unusual silence and
non-eating, he finally asked her to join him in the kitchen. She agreed and
followed him out of the room.
"Buffy, is everything all right?"
"Yep, everything's peachy! Oh who am I kidding? No, everything's *not* all right," she replied.
"Okay, then what's wrong?"
She didn't say anything, but instead went over to the freezer and
pulled something out. Then she popped it into the still warm oven for a few
minutes. When the timer dinged, she took the item back *out* of the oven and
placed it on a plate. Then she put the plate in front of Giles.
"Here," she told him, then left the room.
He looked down and gasped. It was a dessert pizza, with cherries and icing on top. And the
cherries had been arranged so they spelled something out.
"GILES, WILL YOU MARRY ME?"
He put the pizza down, then left the kitchen. Spotting Buffy now
chatting with Willow and Tara, he quietly asked the witches to excuse he and
Buffy. Then he dragged her outside and away from everyone.
"Buffy...did you mean what you said? Or rather, what the pizza said?"
"Y-yes, I did, Rupert. I know we've only been dating for five weeks, four days, 16 hours, and
24 seconds....but I love you so much and I want to marry you. That
is...if you want to marry me?"
He hugged her fiercely, then kissed her passionately. Then he pulled away long enough to say
"yes" and she squealed in delight.
"I love you so much, Buffy. I want to spend the rest of my
life with you....You complete me and I would love to show you just how much
every day."
She grinned and kissed him, then they grabbed a hold of each
other's hand and walked back inside. He ran upstairs briefly, then, in front of
everyone, he got down on one knee and proposed this time. She quickly
accepted and he slipped a Marquis diamond ring on her left ring
finger.
Everyone was surprised, happily, and they all spent the rest of
Pizza Night celebrating the newly engaged couple.
