__Finally Over__
By Eaglewolf

"Giles! You're here! We've been waiting for you." Buffys voice was happy as the Watcher approached where she was sitting onthe lawn in the sunshine.

"Buffy?" He questioned taking in the vision of beauty sitting before him.

"Yup, it's me!" She with a sunny smile as she stood to greet him.

"Hey, Giles." He turned to see the face of an old  friend.

"Willow?"

"The one and only." She replied with a smile.

"Come on Giles." Buffy tugged at his arm, and pulled his arm around her waist.  Willow moved to his other side and took his hand in her own.

Giles allowed the girls to move him forward, not quite comprehending, wondering if he was dreaming again.  It had been such a long time since he'd last seen them, and he'd blamed
himself for their deaths.

"You know it wasn't your fault, G-man."  Xander said as they approached the tree he was leaning upon.

"Xander?"

"You know, anyone would think he hadn't seen us for a while and didn't recognize any of us, wouldn't they, Will?" Buffy casually asked.

Willow smiled at her blonde friend; "Well technically it has been a couple of years since he last saw us Buffy." She squeezed his hand tighter, as Buffy drew him closer.

Xander walked over to the small group and held out his arms.  Giles found himself in the middle of a Scooby hug.  He smiled, these people more than anyone in his life were his real
family.

"Why did you do it, man?  You could have had years to live. ' The Powers That Be' needed us here, now.  But you, Giles you could have had a happy life." Giles could see that Xander had continued to mature even after his death.

Giles looked at each of his friends in turn and whispered, "I just missed you too darn much."

They smiled and engulfed him in another hug.

Buffy spoke for the other two when she said. "It's okay; you're home now."

With that the small group interlinked their elbows and continued to walk up the path towards the bright light.  Giles blinked and smiled, it was finally over.
