__I'll Always Be Right There__

The Mayor entered the Library alone. The group pulled back, Willow pulling Oz back. Buffy slipped the newspaper with the headline 'PROFESSOR FOUND MURDERED' out of sight.

"So, this is the inner sanctum," he commented as he sauntered closer to the group. "Faith tells me this is where you folks like to hang out, concoct your little schemes. I tell you, it's just nice to see that some young people are still interested in reading in this modern era. So, what are kids reading nowadays?"

The Mayor walked to the table and picked up a book. Giles stood his ground and didn't flinch at the proximity.

"The beast will walk upon the earth and darkness will follow. The several races of man will be as one in their terror and destruction," quoted the Mayor, from the book in his hands. "Aw, that's kind of sweet. Different races coming together."

"You never get even a little tired of hearing yourself speak, do you?" sneered Buffy.

"That's one spunky little girl you've raised," chuckled the Mayor, as he looked Giles in the eyes. "I'm gonna eat her."

Without a moment's hesitation Giles grabbed Wesley's sword from the table and thrust it through the Mayor's chest. The Mayor staggered backwards but regained his balance.

"Whoa! Well now, that was a little thoughtless." He pulled the sword out of his chest calmly and continued, "Violent outbursts like that, in front of the children? You know, Mr. Giles, they look to you to see how to behave."

"Get out," Buffy growled at the Mayor as she moved closer to Giles.

The Mayor took out a handkerchief and slowly wiped the blood from the sword. "I smell fear. That's smart. Some of your deaths will be quick, if that's worth anything."

The Mayor looked around the room one last time. "Well, see you all at graduation." He said as he tossed the sword back to Giles. "You don't want to miss my commencement address. It's going to be one heck of a speech."

After the rest of the gang had gone their separate ways Buffy and Giles remained to straighten up the Library. As he shelved the books they had used earlier for research Giles kept sneaking glances at Buffy. That she was angry would have been an understatement. Everything about her body language indicated that she was exerting quite a bit of energy keeping a tight reign on her emotions. She followed him out of the Library when he was done. She walked to the car with him. Without a word, she got in and he drove to his townhouse. She walked stiffly up the sidewalk and waited for him to open the door. Inside she began to pace, anger rolled off of her in waves. But still she remained silent. Nervously Giles went about the routine of making tea. After he had placed the tray on the table he sat on the couch and waited for Buffy to say something.

Finally she seemed to pace herself out and stomped over to the couch and flopped down next to Giles. She rounded on him and demanded, "What were you thinking Giles? Oh wait, you weren't thinking. What you did in the Library required no thinking whatsoever!"

"Buffy, please calm down," he said softly as he reached out to put his hand on her shoulder.

When his hand made contact with her Buffy jumped up and once again began pacing. "Giles," she said in a small voice when she came to a halt. "You could have been killed!"

"It was ill-advised, I admit. But I could not let him threaten you without doing something!"

"God, Giles! It really wigged me!" Buffy suddenly threw herself onto him and wrapped her arms tightly around his waist. "At first when I saw you throw that sword I felt all girly, I mean you acted all macho-like for me. But then I started thinking that if the Mayor wanted to retaliate we wouldn't be able to stop him and you had put our only available weapon in his hands. He could kill you and there would be nothing I could do!"

"Buffy, I'm so sorry. I was foolish to put myself, and the rest of you at risk like that." Gently he stroked her hair with one hand as he put his other around her comfortingly. He continued the caress, as it seemed to calm Buffy. Slowly he felt her relax against him.

His hands stopped with a jerk when something she said caught his attention. "Buffy...I made you feel...ahem...girly? You...you thought I was macho?"

"Well duh, Giles!" She blushed. "But aren't we getting a little off-topic here. We were not talking about my girly feelings we were discussing your temporary insanity back at the Library."

"Actually I thought the subject had pretty much run its course. You yelled, I apologized. What more is there? Personally I would much rather have you elaborate on your girly feelings and my being macho." Giles couldn't help but grin at Buffy's discomfort.

"Hey! You don't have to enjoy my foot in mouth moment so much." Buffy said as she smacked Giles lightly on the arm. "You know I'm no good at the personal revelation stuff."

She was not completely ready to give up the haven that was his arms but she knew that the time had come to get things out in the open. She knew that as uncertain as their future was, she could not go another day without telling him how she felt. Because of his actions in the Library those feelings were finally clear.

Thinking it might be easier to talk to Giles if she didn't have to look at him Buffy turned her face into his shirt and began to speak. Although surprised by Buffy's closeness, he did not pull away. He was unable to deny himself the joy of having her in his arms.

"Well where should I start." She was stalling and Giles' raised eyebrow let her know that he realized it. "Girly feelings, yeah right. Okay, here goes. Well today in the Library when you did your sword thing, I thought 'Wow, Giles is all protective of me. All manly man taking on the big danger for me. For a minute there I forgot I was the Slayer, instead I was just a girl you were protecting. The big, strong, handsome, man protecting little old me. It felt nice, for a minute."

Giles put his finger under her chin and forced her to look him in the eyes. "Handsome?"

"Arrgghh, Giles what is it with the selective hearing today? I said a lot of words and that's the only one that registered?" Nervous energy had her popping off of the couch and out of Giles' arms. She walked over to the fireplace and stared at the cold hearth. "You gotta know that you are a very attractive man Giles. In tweed, in jeans, in sweaters, and...oh my in a Tux."

Giles got up from the couch and joined Buffy in front of the fireplace. He placed both hands on her shoulders and waited for her to look up.

"So when did I lose the Eeewww description?" A grin spread across his face. He was beginning to feel hopeful about Buffy's feelings and decided that maybe Buffy deserved to squirm a little for those words.

"I don't know why I said that Giles. I never really thought that way. I think I just didn't like the idea that Faith noticed you as a man. You're my Watcher. Mine. No one's supposed to feel that way about you. I didn't know how I felt but I know I felt something. I knew you were good looking, handsome, gorgeous even, and sexy and I felt something..."

The grin on his face grew with each word until Giles was wearing an ear to ear smile. Buffy answered with a small affectionate smile of her own.

"Then came the Prom. I actually got to go to a formal occasion and didn't ruin my outfit. And there you were looking so incredible. I was all shy and everything 'cause all of a sudden when I was talking to you, I was talking to a guy, not my Watcher. I kept hoping you would ask me to dance. I really wanted to dance with you. But then Angel showed up and we danced and you faded into the background. And it was the last dance, could his timing have sucked anymore? You and I never got to dance."

This caused Giles to chuckle.

"Giles!" Buffy admonished him and gave him a light playful smack on the arm. "No having fun 'cause of my brain cramp! In the words of Willow to Oz, 'Why didn't you stop me when I started to babble?'"

"Well, to answer you with Oz's words, 'I think you're cute when you babble.'" When she saw the truth of his words in his eyes, Buffy gifted Giles with one of her beautiful 1000-watt smiles.

"You looked lovely that night, Buffy," said Giles, a slight huskiness in his voice. "I wanted to dance with you too, but I thought...Angel...you..."

"It was nice and all but it was you I wanted to dance with Giles." She looked up at him shyly. "Everything else was perfect, except I didn't get my dance."

"Well, would you like to have that dance now?"

"Now?"

"Yes," he replied as he walked over to his stereo, put an album in place and started it. He made his way back to Buffy as the music filled the room. "Close your eyes, Luv. Pretend we're back in the auditorium, you in your dress and me in my tuxedo. May I have this dance, Buffy."

Without hesitation she stepped into Giles' arms and said, "Please."

I swear to you - I will always be there for you -
There's nothin' I won't do
I promise you - all my life I will live for you - we
Will make it through
Forever - we will be
Together - you and me
Oh and when I hold ya - nothin' can compare
With all of my heart - ya know I'll always be - right there

Giles gently wrapped his arms around Buffy and began to lead her around the living room in a simple waltz. With a sigh Buffy snuggled deeper into his embrace, inhaling his scent. She loved his scent; unconsciously she snuffled his neck trying to get more. At the feel of Buffy's nose nuzzling his neck and chest, Giles stiffened then gathered her closer. He drew her right hand to his chest and placed it over his heart. Buffy moved her left hand from his shoulder and tangles her fingers in his hair, loving the softness. As her fingers played with the hair that curled over the collar of his sweater she shifted her other hand to caress his chest. As Giles sucked in a quick gasp, Buffy smiled and looked up into his eyes.

In her eyes he saw everything he had ever hoped for, acceptance, need, respect, and love. As if in a trance he bent his head down and gently placed his lips on hers. He lightly brushed his lips back and forth, teasing, caressing. His lips were so soft, so warm. She wanted to feel them, really feel them, not these teasing touches. She clenched her fingers at the back of his head and pulled down, and stopped his side to side movement.

"Giles, please." She murmured against his mouth.

"Please what, Luv?" He pulled back slightly and was surprised when her lips followed, seeking to maintain the contact. "What do you want?"

"Kiss me, Giles! Don't tease me, really kiss me."

"This time when he leaned down to kiss her, he covered her lips with his own and pressed firmly. Buffy's small hand clutched at his neck as she sought to bring her whole body into contact with his. With one arm around her waist his hand at the small of her back he drew her up against his body as he pushed his other hand into her hair, his palm over her ear. He tilted Buffy's head slightly to deepen the kiss. He ran his tongue along her bottom lip. She immediately opened her mouth inviting him inside. It was an invitation he had no will to resist. Giles swept his tongue inside her mouth, capturing the little sound she made, tasting her. He stroked her palate and explored her mouth, intent on learning its secrets.

He pulled away from her mouth with reluctance, but then began to trail his lips along her jaw, to her ear. Here he stopped to nibble on her lobe before he moved on. He pressed biting kisses down her neck. He felt her pulse as it began to pound. She had moved both her hands so that the grasped the front of his sweater like some kind of anchor. With his mouth hot over her pulsepoint he sucked hard, marking her.

"Giles!" she cried hoarsely, her legs going out from under her.

Giles swept her up in his arms and carried her to the couch. Gently he laid her down on it. He quickly removed his sweater and joined her on the couch. He placed both hands on the hem of her shirt and looked into her eyes seeking permission. Buffy placed her hands on top of his and helped him remove her top. Then he unclasped her bra and removed it as well.

"My god, Buffy. You are perfect! So beautiful!"

He took her in his arms and pressed his chest to hers, the feel of his hair-roughened hardness against her softness caused them both to moan. Buffy reached up and put both arms around his neck and pulled him down to kiss him. This time it was her tongue seeking entrance to his mouth, which he granted. Their tongues dueled as their hands began to roam over each other's bodies. Desperately needing air, Buffy pulled her head away and dragged in great gulps of air. Giles moved his mouth to her neck then trailed it down her collarbone.

"How do you do that? Giles why aren't you breathing hard?" she asked confused to see him not out of breath.

With an indulgent smile he replied, "If man were meant to hold their breath while kissing, he would never have been given a nose."

Buffy blinked once in confusion then when what Giles had said sank in she buried her head in his neck and giggled. He petted her hair and chuckled along with her. She looked up at him with confusion.

"What is it Luv? What's the matter?" he asked as he rested his hand on her cheek.

"It's just that...I didn't know...It was never like this with..." Buffy took a deep breath and started over. "Is this normal Giles? Is it ok to laugh and giggle when you are making love? I mean this is a serious thing, isn't it?"

"Oh Luv, of course it's ok. We are most definitely allowed to have a good time when we make love. Enjoying ourselves is mandatory! As for 'normal'...there are no rules about what is and isn't 'normal'. If it makes you happy, if it feels good, and no one gets hurt or feels uncomfortable then it's normal." Tenderly he brushed her hair back from her face, looked deeply into her eyes and said with a voice made husky by his emotions, "The only thing you have to keep in mind is that I love you with all my heart and soul. All I want is to make you happy. We face so much that is negative, pain, sadness, evil, and death. It is only natural for us to enjoy our moments of love, joy, happiness, laughter, and life whenever we can, wherever we can."

I believe in us - nothin' else could ever mean so much
You're the one I trust our time has come - we're not two people
Now - we are one - ya you're second to none
Forever - we will be
Together - a family
The more I get to know ya - nothin' can compare
With all of my heart - ya know I'll always be - right there

Each word he spoke went directly to her heart where it warmed her and added to her inner glow. That he loved her was the most amazing thing to her. But she did not doubt it, it was in his words, his eyes, and as she looked back his deeds. She was his world, just as he was hers.

She threw her arms around his neck and hugged him tightly to her, "Giles," she whispered as tears spilled down her cheeks. "You always know what to say, and the perfect way to say it! I love you so much!"

"Buffy! I can't breathe!" he gasped as he laughingly pulled out of her arms. "I guess I'm not Slayer-proof."

Buffy giggled and reached up to kiss Giles. What started out to be a quick affectionate gesture escalated rapidly to a wild and passionate merging of lips, tongues, and breath. Hands stroked and bodies pressed, and soon the air was filled with the sounds of moans and sighs as they took each other to a higher level of excitement. Without conscious thought they rid each other of the barrier of clothing and were rubbing their bodies against each other as they tried to bring their bodies closer together.

Giles looked down at his Slayer naked and open for him and caught his breath. In her eyes he saw the love that matched her words. He leaned down and took one perfect breast into his mouth and ran his tongue over her nipple. He smiled as it hardened in his mouth. His hand came up and began to caress her other breast not wanting to neglect it.
He rolled the hard peak between his fingers as it too hardened to his touch. Her body moved rhythmically against his, seeking a greater contact, arching against his erection as it pressed on her mound. He sucked hard on the pebbled nub in his mouth and she cried out and pressed his head to her chest with both hands.

"Giles, oh God, that feels so good!" she gasped.

With a small chuckled Giles replied, "I certainly hope so."

A wicked gleam of her own appeared in her eyes and with a sudden display of Slayer power Giles found their positions reversed, him on his back as Buffy hovered above.

"I'm not sure I like you enjoying my lack of pillow talk skills so much, Watcher mine!" she growled, the sound setting off reactions throughout his body, especially in his groin. Delighted with his reaction she decided it was time to test his limits. "My turn to have some fun, Rupert!"

The sound of his name, in this context, kicked up his level of excitement several notches. Distracted as he was by that, he was not completely aware of the intent revealed by her words. He was therefore totally taken by surprise when her mouth latched onto his nipple and began to suck on it while she moved to straddle his hips. He arched into her mouth as she ground her hips against his. Entranced by the feeling of his erection against her sensitive flesh, she sat up and repeated the movement. A loud groan escaped his lips when he felt the moisture between her thighs slide along the hard evidence of his desire.

"God! Buffy!" he cried as he tried to catch his breath. His hands grasped her hips as his control began to slip. He looked up at Buffy and forced his eyes to focus on her face.

He watched her face as she became aware of her effect on him, as she realized the power she had over him dawned on her. His heart swelled as he saw her joy and self-confidence grow. He watched as her excitement grew and his body answered in kind.

Buffy scooted down his body, placing kisses down his chest until she sat on his legs. She looked at his hard swollen length, then took it into her hands. At the feel of her small hands wrapped around him, Giles arched his hips and threw his head back with a groan. Slowly she began to stroke him from tip to base, smiling as he twitched in her hands. His reactions to her caresses were all she could hope for and fascinated her with their beauty. The sounds he made (he was actually growling!) and his involuntary movements all worked to make her desire skyrocket. When the clear thick fluid began to seep from his tip she didn't even hesitate, but bent down and wrapped her mouth around him. She used her tongue to catch his taste and began to lick the full length of his shaft. She used her teeth to gently nibble her way back to tip. Once there she took the tip into her mouth and started a light sucking pressure.

His control almost to the breaking point, Giles surged up, grasped Buffy's shoulders and switched their positions. He took her mouth in a hard hungry kiss, pushing his tongue past her lips, as he rubbed his pelvis against hers. He trailed his mouth down her neck, over her breasts, lingering for a moment to lick and bite at her nipples, then down to her navel where he swirled his tongue. Buffy spread her legs to give him better access as he moved further down. He parted her labia and looked at her glistening folds. Gently he ran his tongue along her slit. He placed a hand on her belly to hold her still when she began to buck. Buffy started to growl as Giles teased her licking all around but avoiding any contact with her clit.

He stopped his ministrations to look up at her and say, "Patience, Luv. A thing worth doing is worth doing right." He pushed two fingers into wet passage and began to stroke her as he finally he placed his lips over her swollen, distended clit and sucked on it...hard.

"Gi...Rupert!" she screamed as her orgasm crashed over her, her inner walls spasming around his fingers, her body jerking up against his mouth, her head thrashing from side to side, and her hands clenching tightly in his hair.

As she slowly came down from her peak, Giles moved up her body and placed the head of his erection at her entrance. Before her body was even done with her first orgasm he slid home with one long hard stroke. At the feel of his hard shaft filling and stretching her Buffy climaxed again. With her slick hot passage pulsing around him his control finally snapped. He began to pump his hips in a fast hard rhythm that sent them both flying toward oblivion. A few strokes were all it took to rocket them to ecstasy together wrapped in each other's arms.

Forever - we will be
Together - just you and me
The more I get to know ya - the more I really care
With all of my heart - ya know I'll always be...
Ya know I really love ya - ya nothin' can compare
For all of my life - ya know I'll always be - right there
.....................

Totally exhausted, still joined, they both panted heavily as they tried to catch their breath. Buffy stared at Giles, a strange look in her eyes.

"What is it, Luv?"

"I'm not sure...I guess I'm waiting to wake up." Buffy sighed. "I always wake up and find that it was just a dream."

"Me too, Luv." He snuggled her closer. "But this time the dream is real. This time we have to fall asleep first and then we'll wake up."

"Together, right?" She smiled when he nodded. Then as a big yawn escaped she whispered, "Finally!"
