Buffy stared at the door. '*Giles* is my guy?'

Calm and in control
No silly girl whose head's always turning
Nobody would guess that

A brand new flame is burning#


'He is kind of cute, and Ripper, although scary, was a little hot.' She remembered the way her mother used to blush whenever Buffy tried to find out what had happened during the candy episode. 'hmmm and Miss Calendar and even Olivia seemed to enjoy his company. I guess the question is, could *I* have a romantic relationship with my Watcher?'

And together we'd make the whole world

'He is my partner in slayage and we do kind of fit together; Watcher and Slayer, Buffy and Giles, man and woman.' She felt a shiver run down her spine as she imagined Giles fitting together with her in the most intimate of couplings. 'Wow! I've never thought of us doing that before but, oh boy! There is definite tingling.'

'Why haven't I thought of him like this before? He is a main part of my life, not father like. He trains me, helps me, encourages me and trusts me to be myself, however thoughtless I can be.'

'Oh God! I called him old and gross! He's not, I know, I guess I was jealous of Olivia but I couldn't see until now why. I love him. I love the one man who has stayed by my side through all the weirdness that is my life.'

'He's the one man who really knows me and how much I have sacrificed because he has too, for me.'

#All the nights I've wasted dreaming of the time
That I'd discover the one to guide me
Searching the horizon
Didn't realise that all the time he was beside me

and together we'd make the whole world move in sympathy
Hope and pray that I'm in time#


'I know he loves me, but is it too late for him to fall in love with me? Am I just a friend to him? I hope he doesn't think of me as a daughter, he just can't.'

#Only he could stand and wait that long
Stand by me while I was going wrong
What if he couldn't wait
Have I left it too late
Only he has the power to move me
and together we'd make the whole world move in sympathy#


'I want to hold him and love him and I am going to make him see that we are so right for each other.'

#Him and me we'd be sublime
Can he see or will he never guess that next time
I'm gonna answer yes#


'I am going to make him see me as a woman.'

#Does he know if he comes back today this time
I'm gonna make him stay#


'I am not going to let him run away behind his books and hide from me.'

She raised her hand to knock on the door, ready to tell her Watcher she was seeing him in a very different light.
