The flustered Watcher took a very deep breath and walked up to the couch
where his Slayer was sitting. Perching on the coffee table in front of her,
he gazed into her lovely eyes. 'This is it old man, the moment where she
finds out how much you love her... Oh please, let her truly love me, it
can't be just a passing fancy, it just can't.' "Buffy, my dear girl, for the
last quarter of an hour we have been under the influence of a very old
spell."
'Wow, those eyes, I wonder if he looks that intense when he...'
Giles choked as he finished the sentence in his head, any second
now he would be sharing his thoughts with her.
"Hmmm? What spell?"
"A, a telepathy spell. I've been hearing your thoughts for the last fifteen
minutes... a-and now you will be able to hear mine for the same amount of time."

"What? You've been... no, no, you can't, it isn't possible..." She recoiled from him in
shock. "...it isn't ...is it?" she whispered. 'Yes, Buffy, it is.' "Wow!
Oh, Wow! Oh..." She remembered everything she had just been thinking about.
It looked like the cat was well and truly out of the bag - for her at least
- and now she smiled; a smile that vampires had been known to run from.
"So basically, it means I can hear what you're thinking?"
"Yes." 'Oh God, I love you so very much.'
'He loves me! He loves me!'

"No, we're not, I..." He faltered and his thoughts carried on spilling his emotions faster than
his lips could ever hope to.

Her eyes glittered with unshed tears as she listened to the best man she had ever known tell
her he loved her.

Buffy leaned forward and placed her hands on his legs. She could
feel the tremors that were running through him at her touch. "I love you,
Rupert Giles."
RAOUL

CHRISTINE

They would argue later about who moved first but they came together for a sweet,
slow, drugging kiss.
'At last. Wow! He's a great kisser'
'Buffy, my love, I could do this forever.'
TOGETHER

They broke the kiss gently.
"Yes." She whispered
'Did she say yes?'

A look of profound awe and love appeared on his face. 'Forever, do you want forever? With me?'

RAOUL & CHRISTINE

The quarter hour passed quietly un-noticed by the newly engaged pair.
